All the area is well-knows for the large numbers of artists that work, with high ability and capacity, natural materials of the land, such as wood, to create pieces of art of inestimable value.

The origin of this ancient tradition are dated back to 1600 when people, whiling away long and cold winters, loved making sculptures and implements in wood. Nowadays this tradition persists, craft workers create sculptures and many decorative elements of value. The most important and representative pieces of art are exposed in the interesting Gardena Valley Museum .
The “Ladina” origin of the people of the land is an important element for the inhabitants of the Gardena Valley. They are deeply linked to their ancient origins and many manifestations, except from their local language and cuisine, and events are arranged all along the year to maintain alive their ancient past.
During these various manifestations and events, the Gardena Valley people are dressed up in traditional clothes.
